Case Study 5
Clear Out the Family Home so it Can Be Listed.
The real estate agent contacted us. The family is overwhelmed. The home needed to be cleared out so it could be listed. It had 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, living room, dining room, family room, kitchen, full basement, attic, garage, shed and surrounding yard stuffed with a lifetime of possessions.
We were hired to go through every pocket, envelope, bag, drawer, closet, and room to find the important documents (car title, tax returns, medical and legal papers), valuables and mementos. The family made a list of items they wanted to keep. The items were found, tagged and packed for the family to pick-up.
We worked through the cold when the furnace broke and found a few surprises such as the sunken bathtub and a walk-in closet in the master bathroom no one knew about.
After 6 dumpsters, numerous trips to a variety of donation organizations, a hauling service, book buyers and collectors, scrap metal hauler to pick-up the non-functioning appliances; 2 refrigerators, stove, dishwasher and more, and ripping up the carpeting, we succeeded.
